HVAC Installation Supervisor – Permanent
About our Client:
Our client is a trusted supplier for the highest quality redi-mix concrete, construction materials, commercial fuels, and home heating. The function of the HVAC Installs Supervisor is to oversee the efficient installation, service, maintenance and repair of our residential HVAC systems. Day-to-day tasks on the installation line of business will involve onboarding and managing a team of technicians, optimizing their performance and productivity, and monitoring costs associated with materials and equipment. On the service side, the supervisor will primarily focus on troubleshooting and diagnosing complex technical issues, providing expert guidance to customers, and directing technicians to effectively deliver first call resolution and memorable customer experiences.
What You Will Be Doing, as a HVAC Installation Supervisor:
-Full understanding of the full HVAC trade with proven track record of leading a team
– Perform site measures: confirm exactly what the customer wants and determine if feasible. Take pictures, a list of parts required to complete the job and have them ordered and ready before the install takes place.
– Review service performed to confirm that the work completed was in accordance with client specifications
– Manage the efficient resource allocation and timely completion of installs and service calls by providing technicians with remote guidance and support during on-site repairs and installations to ensure accurate and efficient resolution
– Ensure technicians and laborer’s have a minimum of 40 hours of productive work completed every week
– Monitor and drive the performance of in-house technicians and subcontractors by providing training to ensure high-quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, compliance with industry standards, and adherence to work schedule
– Document all installs and service activities, including diagnostics, repairs, parts usage, and customer interactions, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records are maintained
– Investigate and assist in customer complaints and resolution. Inspect any call backs on finished jobs and provide constructive feedback to your team on what they could have done better, if anything.
– Manage residential HVAC projects from concept to completion
– Train new staff – support, coach and work collaboratively with existing team of HVAC technicians and install crews
– Participate in quality improvement initiatives including tracking metrics, process development, and continuous improvement
– Build and lead a team of HVAC technicians, including hiring, training, and performance management, fostering a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous improvement.
– Provide supplemental support for busy install seasons when required
– Other duties assigned as required
What You Should Have, as a HVAC Installation Supervisor:
G1 (preferred) minimum G2 license
– OBT1 or OBT2 license (preferred)
– Air Conditioning and Refrigeration license (preferred)
– 313D license or better (preferred)
– Sheet Metal license (preferred)
– BIN # preferred
– Valid G driver’s license with clean abstract
– Working at heights training
– Strong leadership and management skills
– Experience working with Agricultural crop dryers an asset
Minimum 5 years experience in residential HVAC overseeing installations (AC, Furnace, Water Tanks, Combos, Humidifiers, Boilers, etc.)
-2-3 years managing HVAC technicians and jobs (preferred)
-Effective and clear communication skills, both written and verbal
– Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
– Must possess strong time management and organizational skills
– Comfortable working from heights
– Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision, self-starter
