Logistics Administrator (Temporary to Permanent)
About Our Client
Our client is a chemical company in Milton, looking for full time staff that are interested in growing and learning from the best! They have been formulating, producing, packaging and distributing household and transportation fluids, for the past 65 years. They are looking for someone to fill a short term role until August, as a receptionist helping in the offices.
Please note that this is a 3-6 month contract that might work into full time long term, but this is not guaranteed.
What You Will Be Doing, as a Logistics Administrator:
  • Maintain a manual dock scheduling system based on yard/dock door capacity.
  • Work closely with the distribution team to schedule all inbound/outbound loads based on available capacity.
  • Follow up with carriers/customers to ensure all appointment times are met – prepaid or CPU
  • Record and report on time pickup of all LTL and FTL shipments.
  • Track LTL vs. FTL shipments.
  • Ensure carrier routing guides are followed.
  • Support the distribution and shipping team as required.
  • Based on carrier routing guides track cost/liter for all outbound customer deliveries.
  • Work with carriers and the shipping team to minimize carrier wait times.
  • Strong background, independent
  • Other duties as assigned
What You Should Have, as a Logistics Administrator:
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
  • Superb communication skills (written and verbal) in English
  • Must demonstrate a proven record of consistent on-time attendance
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check (bring your own recent one, or there is a fee for us to run one for you)
In Return, You Will Receive:
  • $28.00 per hour
  • Paid weekly, every Friday.
  • 4% vacation pay – accrued and paid out when you need it
  • Access to a Vertical Representative Monday to Friday 8am to 11pm and on weekends
The Shift You Will be Working is:
  • Monday to Friday
  • 7:00am to 4:00pm
  • In office only, not remote
Where You Will Be Working, as a Logistics Administrator:
  • James Snow Parkway and Holgate (Milton)
  • Bus accessible for some
